Collaborative Law - a new approach to Family Law

This approach to Family Law resolution has been developed in the USA  with great success,  and now this has started in Ireland.   The idea is that the Solicitors for both parties, and the parties themselves,  all meet around a table together,  and try to work out a solution to split the finances and properties of the couple,  to agree access to the children, and to sort out their lives post Separation.   This may take a few meetings,  but in most cases resolution is achieved.  The couple have the pride of knowing that they worked it out themselves,  without a Judge deciding on their lives.  This approach demands full disclosure and honesty by both the husband and the wife.  If the parties try to hide things or are not open,  then the solicitors will withdraw and the family will have to use the Court system instead.

Muredach Doherty Solicitor has trained in this method, and can recommend other Solicitors who have also trained,  and will have the patience and committment to see this process through to a successful and fair conclusion. It requires that everyone works at this diligently and honestly.
